The home office maintains a database of parts and specifications. The the
customer in the field may request to review specifications of specific parts
and then request delivery of those parts. If the parts exist in inventory,
then a list is printed at the home office and someone then delivers the parts.
A single parts data to be reviewed in the field might be as long as 10,000
bytes and a user might look up as many as 15 parts at one time.
So really the PDA is just an application while the database is remote. Just
trying to figure out how this could be best accomplished. If my app networks
through the internet and does ftp's, response would not be immediate (or maybe
so).
