I had the same error on my iMac (MacOS 8.5), which I hadn't done any
Palm work on in a while. There were many intervening installs and
rearrangements. I'm not sure exactly what the circumstances were.
But I think I tried to install the R5 patch and patch update, then
reinstalled R5 because I had a merged installation. IIRC the error
occurred on a clean install of R5 plus the patch plus the update,
with old prefs. I specifically _do_ remember that it occurred on the
starter app--didn't try my other projects. I wiped out the entire CW
tree and got everything working again with R5 only, no patches, but
in its own directory (not a merged install).
