Both books can in fact be ordered from Amazon.com or Fatbrain.com. For more information on my book, see http://www.ericgiguere.com/palmbook. Chapters 2 to 4 of the book deal with learning how to write apps on the Palm Computing platform and while it's not meant to be a complete reference, I did my best to explain the unique features of the Palm platform, especially things like launch codes, so that readers could jump right in. I think no matter which book you buy (and there are several of them now), you'll still spend a lot of time with the official reference manual from Palm Computing. But that's fine. As for GCC support, the fact is that CodeWarrior IS the official development platform and GCC didn't really cut it from my point of view. The new version of GCC will hopefully rectify that. Eric
