Does it provide a benefit to the user and are you doing in a manner so that
they understand the effects it will have?
If so, it is an acceptable practice. Application enhancement is something a
lot of utilities/apps do...but dont do it where the user is left wondering
what the heck is going on...

Subject: Acceptable practices ???
It is an acceptable practice for one application to programmatically
change something in another app. database?
IE. Changing/Editing/Creating a Category in, say, MemoPad with
another application?
How far does this extend before it becomes an unacceptable practice,
for one application to change another application's database?
