Agreed. But why put so much development effort into a feature that the
majority of developers (and hence customers) is supposed not to use?
And why not focus on making the existing features even more user-friendly?
You can easily store more than a hundred apps on a Palm IIIx and Vx. With
the current full-list implementation, finding and changing an application's
category can be really difficult. A re-file per category would be easier and
more intuitive (Scenario: I just found the app in the wrong category and
want to re-file it).
Or my favorite since PalmOS 1.0: Entering a multi-day event (like the Palm
DevCon) requires 8+ taps, with a mixed-function two-option pull-down and a
wrong default (ever entered a daily repeat event with no end date?).
Instead: new features that break existing behaviour or try to imitate MS
functionality (like the flashing 'toolbar') :-(
BTW: When I ask users, the biggest complaint about PalmOS is not that it
doesn't have colors, but that the 160 pixels display resolution is too
small. I was very disappointed to see that OS 3.5 does not address this
issue (or is it hidden?).
