David gets the final answer on this one, but my understanding is that these are
semi-supported.
We encourage you to write your software so that it does not need to know any of
this stuff. But, if you must,
you can use the HwrMiscFlags. There is a new one for software brightness
control.
But do NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES use the low memory global GHwrMiscFlags!!
(Shame on you, Doug!! ;-)) The MiscFlags (and MiscFlagsExt) are published in a
feature,
so please call FtrGet(miscflagsID,&miscflags) or whatever, and access them that
way.
