I guess that he was talking about reverse-engineering SysAppStartup(), which is
where PalmOS sets up the A5 world for you and reproducing its actions inside
your app. I was very surprised to see someone from Palm suggest this, I think
this is the surest way to make your app incompatible with future OS versions.
OTOH, A4-based data access is completely ABI-transparent and therefore it is
impossible for any new OS version or any other external software to break it.
See my response to his posting. As for documentation, the source is the only
one I know of for things like this that apps aren't really supposed to depend
on.
