Hello there..
I've done the very much same thing with same specifications...
but why do u need any code ???
actually this aal thing is possible thru RAS on WinNT (COM port) and
Preferences at Palm side.
see, in the Prefs, Goto Network

Service : Windows RAS
User name : <whichever u create on NT>
password :...
connection : .....................

here u've options like
PalmV Modem, Workpad c3 modem, Direct serial.., IR to a PC/Handheld
IRCOMM
Current

so, initially select any of these Except "IR"... with Ph no of Ur Cell Phone
(DATA Enabled SIM is cumpulsory)
say connect.. cancel it & again say IRCOMM for connection & say Connect...
This connects to Ur PC thru IR Comm...
IMP : -> at Ur PC side, U can have Modem, Or Anothere PhoneSet Or IR Port as
to have Laptop... any can work

So, its a matter of Connection only... Nothing of code...
Next part is TCP/IP connection... that is another part... for that i can
give u sample code.. but, Ur main part is to have that IR connection./...

Rest Best in Next

Subject: GSM TCP/IP connection

In a new project I have to connect the Symbol with the barcode reader over
GSM (Ericsson SH888) to a webserver for synchronizing data ( no Hotsync
possible). TCP/IP is a must.

My question: Does anybody have a code sample or code snipplet for connecting
the Palm/Symbol over IR/Serial Port to a GSM phone and transferring data?

Many thanks
