If you're using Palm OS 3.5 or later, you can register for notification of
the power-on. See the Notification Manager chapter in the docs. Very
simple, and reliable.
Before 3.5, there wasn't a good, reliable, safe way to do it in all
circumstances. Lots of people hacked, though... just don't use those hacks
on 3.5 or higher :-)
