I am comparing WAP to Web Clipping for an upcoming project and trying to get
a good grasp on the pros and cons of each. I have a couple questions that I
havent found answers to yet that I am hoping the experts can help me with.
1. With Web Clipping you can build your PQA with a lot of the static
content pre-installed on the handheld so that only your dynamic data needs
to go over the network. Can this be done with WAP using a standard WAP
browser like Wapman?
2. I know that web clipping works on the Palm VII and have heard of third
party modems and clipping apps that allow you to use a Palm III or V to run
a PQA. Can anyone verify that this is true? Notice that I am not talking
about other forms of wireless communication. I am talking specifially about
web clipping and PQAs.
3. Can a Palm VII with a WAP browser view a WAP page? Does the page author
need to do anything extra to make the page accessable to PalmNet?
4. Does WAP support anything like http cookies or where can I find the WAP
specification? I looked at wap.com and couldn't find it.
5. Where can I find a list of hardware that supports WAP or has WAP
browsers available?
Thanks in advance for any help on these questions.
