Well its not what I was doing on this newsgroup but I guess its worth
mentioning a few little things I've observed. Please excuse the double
post.
Actually there are risks involved with using PCS and other wireless devices
that utilize microwaves to transmit data. They are miniscule for the most
part, however for those who have electromagnetic sensitivities (light,
infrared, microwaves, etc) the problems are very real. I myself am very
sensitive to upper spectrum energy such as infrared and microwaves. Three
feet is usually enough distance from a device such as a microwave oven. But
handheld devices are hard to get away from and use at the same time. If I
use my cell phone without its headset for more than about 2 minutes I get
severe migraines and heat burn on the side of my face. Even if I use the
headset I still get discolored and hot on my skin where ever the phone is
at. (Usually my hand).
The industry loves to poo-pah the risks (they wouldn't take back my PCS) but
for the percentage of the population with similar sensitivities it is very
real. I don't even know if any studies have been done regarding this issue.
Who knows if its doing anything to you if you don't have any side effects of
using your wireless devices. Hopefully that means you'll be fine, because
as we find that we can't do without more and more of the gadgets we use
everyday, the more exposure to these types of radiation we will be subjected
to.
