The least you would have to do is to add a stream header (16 bytes?) to turn your PDF file into a stream header. By "them" you mean the company that writes the PDF reader? Forget about that and just install your plain PDF file on the SD card. But like I wrote you earlier, you don't even need a HotSync to copy a file to a SD card. Just a card slot and a PC will do...
