I don't know what charsets are internal to the printer, but a PC-8
monospace font should have line drawing characters that allows you to
draw grids and boxes with either single or double lines (if you can
remember the old DOS apps...).
Also, what you want to do is simple in PostScript, if that is
available for any of the printers you have.
