Yeah, I agree this is not professional..... And new developers shouldn't
feel intimidated.....but I don't think this will intimidate anyone with any
semblance of a sense of humor.....or common sense. It is obviously a
joke.......to allow some people to vent some steam (and we don't always have
to be professional - we can be long haird linus hippi commies who h4t3
micorsoft).

It also serves as a reminder of what 'netiquette' is all about.

<personal moment>
A while back, I read somewhere in a Linux FAQ for some guys site that he
would not answer anyone's question if the answer could be found out if you
spent just 15 minutes looking it up. After I became the Linux guru in my
circle, I started to adopt this philosphy on my own....I told people that I
would only help out after they had spent 15 minutes looking it up and were
still vexed. My life became easier. It was very hard to keep this policy,
because I felt like a dickhead sometimes....especially when a good friend
would ask for help.
</personal moment>

I think that for developers this rule is doubly important! It makes you
learn how to learn.

You find that you don't need to ask questions because you know you can find
the answer in a few minutes......you stop taking the easy way out.

The sucky part, is I don't know of any great tome for palm
programming......theres the knowledgebase, but its kinda flaky sometimes.
Maybe as a group we could harvest some really good references and see if
palm will post them in the support page under the "help yourself" section.

But when people have absolutely no clue, and haven't at least skimmed the
PDFs on Palms Dev site.....well they should go and do that, and learn.

Anyone have anything to add? Am I just being an ass? :-)
