Thanks for the tip about not needing to replace PalmOS at all. The part that confused me was that I was doing hard (power button) resets and I got a fatal error before it even asked me to "Push Up" to erase all the data. Hitting the silkscreen "Reset" button resulted in a similar message (power button down or no!) It also wouldn't go to sleep.
