If memory serves (my brother has one of those phones, and a Palm - his
imagination led him the same direction as yours) the Nokias sold Stateside
have the IR port disabled. Perhaps someone that actually owns one can nail
this down better?

Subject: IR comms
heya,
i have a Nokia 6185 phone. it has an ir port (or what appears to be one) at
the top of it. i'm curious as to how to communicate thru it. when i do a
discovery process on some other devices (printers, pp's, etc). if their ir
ports are 'open' they get detected but the phone isn't. so i'm wondering
how to open the port on the phone?!?
tia
