Well, yeah.  But saving space and simplifying would be nice too.  I'm hoping
the alert bitmaps could be considered the sort of semi undocumented feature
that future OS versions will try real hard not to change, out of recognition
that it can break existing applications.  In the specific example given
above, hopefully that's the sort of thing that would be more safely
implemented by giving the new bitmaps new IDs and leaving the old ones
as-is.

BTW, did you know Constructor sort of supports using the system alert bitmap
IDs in forms?  If you create a form bitmap and give it an ID between 10004
and 10008, Constructor displays the right thing.  Does this constitute
official "support" of those system bitmaps?  :-)
