Still, if I had to guess without actually seeing your setup, the problem
most likely somewhere between the Palm's serial port and the device you're
connected to. If your using your own application on the Palm to receive the
data, I'd also check there (make sure you flush the receive buffer, allow
enough time between opening the serial port and receiving the first data
bits, etc)
Just because you've used Hyperterm to send data to the Palm doesn't imply
that your device will also send the data to your Palm as flawlessly. While
the serial port on the Palm is RS232, it does have some subtle
differences(none of which may apply here). Hyperterm on the PC seems to be a
little more forgiving not to mention most PC RS232 port are more forgiving
than the Palm's (and a few are worse)
If you can get one of the Palm terminal apps (such as SimpleTerm) to work
with your hardware, then there is no doubt that your software will work with
a little tweaking. If you can't get a 3rd party Palm terminal app to
connect, then its a problem with your hardware or connection.
