This could also lead one to check that the .prc is still valid by manually
loading it onto the emulator to see if it loads properly or gives you an
error.

But this kind of eliminates that possiblity. However, if you get an
invalid .prc it can corrupt the debugging preferences, so before you go
doing something rash, like reformatting your hard drive, delete the CW
Autosave and CW Debugging Cache folders from the C:\WINNT\Metrowerks
folder. To make sure everything's working, close the IDE and the
emulator, delete those preference folders, restart the IDE and the
emulator (with CAPS lock on so you start with a fresh emulator session),
create a new stationery project, enable the debugger, and try to debug to
the emulator.
If you have problems doing that, please mention what apps you have running
in the background on your computer. There are known conflicts (such as
with the oracle73.exe that runs in the background if you have Oracle 7.3
installed) that will cause the debugger to stop connecting. Take a
specific look at the apps you've added to your computer since you were
last able to debug.
