I have a couple of thoughts on the urgent issue -

--- Academic/School deadlines. Why isn't project management a required 101
level course? But, students being student will leave everything to the last
minute, and then their problems become everyone else's.
--- Commercial/Business Project deadlines. Hmmm, bad project planning or
resource allocation. I guess ProjMgmt101 wasn't a requirement at your
university 8^).

But above all, I think many of the urgent request are from people who don't
RTFM. Most of what I know is in there - and if it isn't there, then a search
of the news group archive (I keep it local) usually pops up the results. And
then if I still don't have an answer I will throw the question out to the
group ... but there are tones of writing that are more inclined to elicit a
response than "I HAVE A DEDLINE IN 3 DAYS FOR A CUSTOMER, ADN IM HAVING
PRBLMS WITH CAPSLOCKS AND SPELING. IF YOU DONT HELP ME IM FSCKED".

Regards,
CSE
