Not just for "urgent" posts, but many others as well ("crash", 
"a question" "newbie question", etc.", it's much nicer if
the Subject has some meaningful information in it.  I'll bet very few
people actually open and read *all* the messages.  If the Subject has
something in it that the person recognizes, he/she will be more apt
to open and read it.  It also helps when searching the archives if
we can filter at the list of subjects, without having to open every post
that matches.


Anyway, (off the track here), it kind of reminds me of the little-known
feature the phone company implemented some years back--did you know the
pound sign (#) on your phone actually has a purpose?  If you dial and
get a busy signal, you can press pound, and if your call is more important
than the one in progress, you will immediately break in.  

Try it sometime.
