Yeah, there are 40,000 records.
I am looking into the PDBcruncher tool.
Has anyone used this tool before?

I'm guessing that not only do you have a large pdb file, but, more
importantly, that there are many records in it (I'd guess 5,000-10,000).
You can download a 4 MB pdb file in about 10 minutes, as long as there
aren't too many records (200 records of 20 KB each would be about 10
minutes).
A solution I've used in the past is to pack your data into large records and
then unpack on the handheld.
The problem is that the HotSync protocol has overhead for each record.
