Under strict Win32, you'll need to either a) rename the directory, or b)
copy it to a folder called SDK.  GCC doesn't know how to follow a Win32
shortcut, so that's out.

If you use the BASH shell (from cygwin), you can simply create a dynamic
link using ln.  It's my preference for gcc under Win32.
