so, a few get confused, yet, many work it out? i just hope
John is updating the pages now so we never hear this again

  confusing yes, wrong.. no

understanding how cygwin packages work would never lead to such
confusion however - but, thats another story altogether..

  cd /palmdev
  ln -s sdk-3.5 sdk

by default, it looks in /palmdev/sdk unless you specify which
"sdk" to use.. this is mentioned in the documentation somewhere

you want user-friendly? you pay for it.

what gets on my nerve is how everyone expects stuff for free,
and, when something doesn't work out how they want it to - they
want us to all sit on our thumbs and help them..

open source software is very well known to not be "user friendly"
and, we put hours of our own time into these projects, understanding
how they work and why they work the way they do only to see people
come along and say "hey, it doesn't work like i expect - fix it"

  contribute something then.

the problem in this case is that John did try to help you, but
you couldn't see the forest through the tree's. you had it set
in your mind that what you were doing was 100% accurate and
you didn't consider that making the change on *your* side was
  not your problem.

so, we didn't write "DONT CHANGE THE INSTALL DIRECTORY" and that
is our fault? i dont think so here - the installation of prc-tools
2.0 and 2.0.92 differ amazingly. but, now you know.
