The POSE configure test makes some assumptions about the location and names 
of the fltk header files, which isn't always correct (e.g. in a subfolder 
FL or fl). I had to cope with this on my Suse 8.0 fltk setup, too.

You can see details about the configure run in config.log. Of course, if you 
trick the configure script into finding the right files, then you'll 
probably have to do the same changes to the POSE sources.

You might as well unpack and compile a fltk package seperately and then tell 
the POSE configure script via the --with-fltk option where to find them. 
This usually works without touching POSEs configure script.

he already has X installed, since he's talking about having fltk installed, 
which IMHO doesn't exist in a plain macos x setup.
