If you know of a way for Poser to automatically find your FLTK 
installation, I'm all ears.  Better yet, if you come up with the 
configure script changes, I'll roll them in.

I wouldn't (and didn't) assume that.  I'm only assuming that he 
installed FLTK, and hasn't yet realized that he needs X.  That would 
mean that he installed pre-built FLTK libraries and headers, which 
might not fail if X were not already installed.
