There are shareware / freeware tools which allow digitiser recalibration on soft reset, but if a hard reset doesn't fix it, I think you should bite the buttet, and send the device off for repair.
BTW: When you say that a Hard reset doesn't fix the problem, are you able to successfully get through the calibration screen after the hard reset??
