Ben,
I would like to clarify my request for information regarding a device to debug beaming with.
I understand that devices like the Palm M125 have the Dragonball VZ processor. However, I was under the impression that they used a USB cradle and I thought there were issues debugging on a device using USB. Am I wrong about this?
USB debugging works on many devices, including the m125. Here's the list of supported devices from the CW for Palm OS V9 release notes:
USB debugging has been tested and is supported for some Palm OS devices:
Palm m125, m500, m505 Palm Tungsten T (m550) Handspring Visor Deluxe, Prism, Platinum, Pro, Neo, Edge Handspring Treo 180, 180g, 270 AlphaSmart Dana
For USB debugging, you should have Palm Desktop 4.1 installed, making sure that you are using USBPort.dll version 4.4, and that your devices are associated the PalmUSBD.sys 1.4. If you are using Handspring's version of Palm Desktop 4.01, you should be able to update to Palm Desktop 4.1 from www.palm.com and still be able to talk to your USB-based Palm OS devices.
Serial debugging works on everything we have tested. The Palm Zire (m150) and the AlphaSmart Dana do not have serial ports. The Dana works over USB, but the Zire is not supported at all for debugging purposes.
These devices have been tested and do NOT currently support USB debugging. It would require OS or hardware changes on these devices for debugging over the USB port to work.
