XRD is the new official PalmSource resource creation format. It is an XML-based description of resources, and it's supported by the Palm OS Resource Editor (PORE), one of the new components of the developer suite.

AFAIK, the XRD format is final. The editor is in pretty good shape, but it's not really a edit-by-hand format. Another developer has posted a XSLT script that will transform an XRD file into a header file, but that's not built into the Dev Suite yet.

The .trc files that XRD outputs can be used by CW for Palm OS V9.3 with the Palm OS 68K Linker, just go into File Mappings, hit Factory Settings, then add it to your project. There's no "run XRD as a plugin" functionality in CodeWarrior for Palm OS, unfortunately.
