As far as future devices go the sort of people that develop these frameworks are also the sort of people that often have access to pre-release hardware. Ask Mr Ardiri how many Palm devices he's got :-) If you've got the money and have deadlines to meet it's more effective to buy other people's research than repeat their mistakes and head-aches.
