In theory an advantage to using a framework is that they're testing
on a much wider range of devices than Joe Average programmer
will ever have access to.  In many cases what you're buying is
the knowledge that *this* API fails on *that* device when passed
*those* parameters.

As far as future devices go the sort of people that develop these
frameworks are also the sort of people that often have access to
pre-release hardware.  Ask Mr Ardiri how many Palm devices he's
got  :-)

If you've got the money and have deadlines to meet it's more effective
to buy other people's research than repeat their mistakes and
head-aches.
