And what was so bad about having "bogus" accounts? It's just an entry
in a database, who cares if it's there or not?

More importantly: was removing those "bogus" accounts important enough
to aggravate lots of developers? Those lucky ones reading those forums
at least know about the problem and can complain right now, but what
about all those other developers who don't read the forums, don't know
about this problem and will try to login a month from now? How are
they suppose to figure out that PalmSource screwed up and disabled
their account?

If you ask me, PalmSource should just restore the old accounts
database and stop this silliness of investigating why their logic of
figuring out which account is "bogus" is so horribly broken.

They'll save themselves time and fix the problem they've created.
