We considered this idea but rejected it. The worry was that appl/lnch
does other things besides just act as a launcher; i.e., PalmOS and/or
other built-in apps might be calling appl/lnch with some other launch
codes that we don't know about and expects them to be handled
properly. That could just be me being paranoid, though.
BTW, the following (non-)thread describes another problem which I assume
arises from a PalmSource/palmOne programmer not realizing that there may
be 3rd-party launchers installed on the device:
