BT is also not an option due to high power consumption. (I'm looking at the
datasheet for a Blue Radios Serial Radio modem EVB: advertises low power
consumption, 120 mA Tx, 40 mA Rx--yikes!) And am I right that the Palm One
BT SDIO card (the one that I paid $199. for a while back) is no longer
available?

What I'd like to see is some mfg likeSocketIO to come out with a RS-232 SDIO
card. Would solve all these connector arguments. Now that more PPCs are
coming out with SD slots instead of CF, this might happen.

shipping Palms all have USB only. This is very bad news for people like me.
I have customers calling up saying they can't find a compatible Palm because
my product needs a serial port. Looks like Palm will put me out of business
unless I can find a solution.

compared to the wired connection. (the one byte req, one byte resp has a lot
of overhead, I'm guessing, when over BT) Cost is another issue since my
products use non-standard baud rates, I cannot use an 'off the shelf' BT to
serial converter.
