Hmm, let me start by apologizing, this is my first Palm application and I think
I have the process of 68k applications down pat (but I prolly don't know all I
need to). I thought I was developing a 68K app, but don't know how to check if
I'm right or not. Some of my resources (bitmaps) are already larger than 64K
and work just fine, so I'm not really sure what that means. If I am writing a
68K app, I have a few questions:

- I know there are resources on porting an app from 68k to protein, but is this
a complex, time intensive process?

- I suppose the only feature I need from a Protein app is the resource storage
is larger, the size of my resources is a debatable topic on my project, do you
think this reason is strong enough to port? I would hate to waste a lot of
time porting if it will be less work to convince my boss that we have to use
minimal graphics on this first version.

- Is it common for, say Software ABC Rev 1.0 to be 68k, while 2.0 is on
Protein? This may also be an option for us.

- Are there different tools to develop protein applications or does PODS
support both? Are they as intuitive as the 68k tools?

- How do I find a list of devices that can run Protein applications?

Again I apologize for the lack of knowledge between the two OS, I really
appreciate all the help I have received from this forum.

thanks,

~Tony

The largest resource allowed in a 68K application for most devices is just
under 64K. The TapWave Zodiac supports larger resources, as does Palm OS
Cobalt for Protein applications.
