Thanks for your comments. I'm not quite to the point where I will be
developing enterprise level applications. My plan is to work on a
project with a friend that will run on his Palm.
There are no currently shipping devices with Palm OS older than 4.1, and
the devices to be concerned about with this OS are the Symbol 1550 and
1800, and the Aceeca Measura, as all three are applicable to the Enterprise
space.
It is important to choose the oldest OS your application will run on, and
do so based on the capabilities in the OS you will require. But I don't
see the need for any new application to support an OS older than 4.1, and
unless you need to use one of the devices listed above, you can probably
restrict to devices with 5.2 or greater, or even 5.4 or greater.
