Erica, I answered this for someone else just earlier today or yesterday.
Please check through the list archives for a more complete answer.
Basically, Garnet is Palm OS 5.x and it runs on virtually all existing
products. Cobalt is Palm OS 6, and is pretty much a dead project, as
PalmSource (and by some rumors, Palm) are moving to Linux. Basically,
you can forget about Cobalt. Just stick to Garnet and the 68k
architecture for now, using PNOs if you need extra performance for
part of your application.

It's good that you got the simulator to work at all, but your goal
should be to get the Garnet simulator and the product simulators
from the Palm website working instead of the Cobalt simulator.

I suggest you try downloading some of the simulators from the
Palm PluggedIn program, and see if you can get one working outside
of the PODS IDE. If you can get that to work, I think you can work
from there.

Good luck with it.
