Thank you, everyone. It just happens that our division (Special Products Division, aka SPD, formerly ATI Tools) is one of Snap-on's smallest, and they chose to move manufacturing of the core product line into another facility (CDI Torque Products in City of Industry, California) and close this location.
There will be some jobs that will go with the production, and while it's probable that I will be offered the dubious opportunity of moving to the other location, it's not somthing I wish to do, nor is commuting an option (it's not a great distance at ninety miles, but the traffic is unbelievable in both directions). I'm looking into several possibilities in the area where I live, north of San Diego, that I had passed by in the last four years of "just looking" but which now are better candidates, even at lower pay. It's not impossible that I may end up working for the County of San Diego, as my wife does, but I'm not yet at the stage of jumping on the first thing that comes available! :-) Regardless, I want to get out of manufacturing, or at least the production side of it. -- Mike Hungerford http://users.sdccu.net/chthulhu2/models.html --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Papermodels II" group.
