It was used for the corkscrew jump because the stunt driver who invented the stunt had a contract with AMC to provide cars for his shows. That's also why the Bangkok Police cars in the movie were Ambassabors. No, Hornets weren't terrible as far as daily transportation cars, but Bond needs to ride in style. <G>

His description of Bond's pre-WWII Bentley was my introduction to the marque, and I thought it was cool that Felix Leiter's car in the early books was a '30's vintage Cord. These are a far cry from Astons and Lotus' of the movies, or the Saab 900T that John Gardner had him driving in his Bond books of the early '80's. The worst Bond car ever?
