Actually, that is quite normal.  We always get at least 1 week in the high 
40's.  Gets up to the 50's in the middle areas of Australia.  Most of the 
rest of the Southern part of Australia have temperate weather... :)

Thanks for including "°C". Americans (like me) get lazy and forget the
rest of the world uses metric. A hot summer of 48° sounds ice age and
will be blamed on Global Warming.
