I used CIS for my epson printer last year, I don't know the reason why but the printouts were not of the quality that the regular Ink Cartridge gave me. However due to very low cost, I used it for most of my papercraft projects. There is one small catch i.e. you need to take printouts regularly otherwise the ink might get dry resulting in various problems in Printer.
Now instead of CIS I am using compatible cartridges, they cost a bit more but are much more printer friendly. FYI: CIS in India is extremely cheap, I got mine for less than US $30 and most of the time price vary in between $25-$45.
