In my experience with ink printers, I have understand that the main problem
with them is that the ink is dissolved by water and most of the paper glues
that I use, like white glue, are water based, which make unwanted smudges
over the print. At this time most of the companies makes black ink which is
resistant to water, but there is only one company which makes all colors
water resistant. It's Epson and their brand of printers using DURABrite
inks.

I have Epson D88 and it is a perfect printer. It's very old model now, but
is works very well.

The problem with this printer is the ink price. It's expensive, but hey, no
any smudges anymore! Only genuine inks have to be used, all other
replacement inks are bad.

Another problem with Epson printers is that they have to be used all the
time. The printer head is not replaceable, and if the printer is not used
for a 2-3 months (2-3 full colored pages each month will be enough), some of
the printer head nozzles will stop to work.

Another solution for the smudges is the Color Laser printer.
HP and Samsung have cheap laser printer models which have acceptable print
quality. The price of the toner is very high, but one cartridge last
thousands of pages and compared with the ink price, it's almost free.

The problem with the Laser prints come when scoring models. The toner just
brakes and fell off of the paper. This can be avoid again by using only
quality toner and very good quality paper
