Try this out http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store441/product.php?productid=224&cat=46&page=1 It is a chip resetter for the ink cartridges used on the PIXMA MX870. I have a refill kit from Inkproducts.com for a Canon PIXMA MG5220 that included a chip resetter. Works great.
