.... also, squeeze the side of the cartridge slightly BEFORE you put the tape 
over the vent holes, this keeps a slight vacuum on the inside of the cartridge 
and it is less likely to leak.

You have to be careful not to overfill and seal the fill holes with tape 
or the ink will leak out. I had a few messes like that until I got the 
hang of it.
