My ultimate goal is to support self-contained, bundled XML::Comma/HTML::Mason-based web applications. Comma knows how to resolve data defs from a PAR file, these resolvers let Mason fetch components from a PAR file, and PAR.pm already makes it possible to load perl modules from PAR files -- that's all you need!
Mmmm, shiny. Now my brittle install scripts can be replaced by a INSTALL file that says "Drop this PAR file here, and add these bits to your httpd.conf". And I'll have to worry less about curious folks (namely, me ;-) twiddling with a production site.
Since this is being cross-posted to the PAR list, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Autrijus for a really nifty (and powerful) tool.
Hear, hear!
Kwin
Also, thank you Kwin for XML::Comma. Boy, my life just keeps getting simpler and simpler. And that's a Good Thing (tm).
