Well, there is a pure-perl SHA1 here: http://search.cpan.org/src/JMASON/Mail-SpamAssassin-2.61/lib/Mail/SpamAssassin/SHA1.pm It's just 3k, and I'm seriously tempted to duplicate this code twice (inside par.pl and PAR.pm), so we can get a consistent behaviour.
