I got the PAR Packer to work actually it was the actually code I was
working on causing the problems

I inherited some Perl code that I had to package up with some
corrections it worked fine.

I've now changed things in our theoryx5 repository so that the PAR and
PAR-Packer packages (without the -588 extension) are compiled with the
latest ActivePerl. Try installing these to see if they work.
