When creating a mac partition table (on a 64bit powerpc XServe G5 machine),
with todays d-i daily build, parted 1.7.1 is not able to show the resulting
partition table. It recognizes the partition table as a mac partition table,
but shows no partitions.

The partitions show up just right inside partman though, which uses libparted.
Can you try with parted-1.8.0rc2 and see if the problem persists? We've

I am unable to build the 1.8 svn version, due to some autoconf/automake
issues.

Trunk in parted svn may not always work. I mean, it should for the most part, but don't assume that.

Well, the problem seems to be linked in the d-i environment, since in the
installed system things work just fine. I am really baffled by this, first
time i see it, but it may be due to some devfs compatibility things that are
done maybe ? Not sure though, the partition table is recognized as a mac one.

I don't know what the d-i environment is, but as far as parted goes, please try 1.8.0rc2.
