I tried the 1.8.0rc1 version and was uable to build it too.
Well, the problem seems to be linked in the d-i environment, since in the
installed system things work just fine. I am really baffled by this, first
time i see it, but it may be due to some devfs compatibility things that
are
done maybe ? Not sure though, the partition table is recognized as a mac
one.
I don't know what the d-i environment is, but as far as parted goes,
please try 1.8.0rc2.
We need to ba able to build deb packages to test it. And with the
autoconf/automake mistake, we are not able to test it.
You need to provide me with some more info on the autoconf/automake
failure. Without that, I can't do anything to fix it.
On what Debian are you building parted?
