Ben, I'm working on my Doctorate in Computer Science, though (despite) "I don't have a whole lot of faith in my local university's ability to support some good technical research for a doctorate." The advisement is a bit more painful, but it provides the guidance to tackle administrative requirements and some pressure to actually complete my research.
