I'm currently doing a study about getting into security and one of the questions I'm asking is about certifications, the current results say that only about a quarter of the people who replied think the CEH is worth taking. http://www.digininja.org/projects/breaking_in_interim.php I've not done it so can't comment myself but thought the stats might help.
